On September 17, Howard Zucker, Commissioner of the New York State Department of Health, extended the COVID-19 Imminent Threat to Public Health (ITPH) declaration for the period of January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021.
County Health Departments will be able to request reimbursement for the continued expense incurred during the COVID-19 response by filing an ITPH claim with the 2021 4th Quarter Article 6 State Aid claim.
Like the 2020 ITPH claim, a County may only file a 2021 ITPH Claim if the expenditures associated with the emergency response have caused them to exceed the budgeted amount in the 2021 State Aid Application. Eligible expenses may be reimbursed at 50%.
